AIA member in good standing for 15 successive years who 1) has attained the age of 70, or 2) has attained the age of 60 and is fully retired from the profession or unable to continue working in the profession. Members' Emeritus receive the same benefits as AIA members but now have the emeritus status without the customary membership fees. Eligible AIA members can visit the AIA national website (www.aia.org/SiteObjects/files/upgrade.pdf) to obtain an emeritus member application form.

Professional Affiliates must be registered to practive their professions where such requirements exist, with establishd professional reputations. They may be engineers, planners, landscape architects, sculptors, muralists and other artists and designers; professionals in government, education, industry, research and journalism, and/or others who the chapter believes will provide meaningful contribution by virtue of their employment or profession.
